Welp, now that’s out of the way– I’m Lucy, a 21-year-old New Zealander originally from Dunedin, way down south and from my picture, apparently tuning a koto. As part of my last year in my double B.A. (Hons.) degree in Mandarin Chinese and Japanese, I had to do an exchange overseas, and am now winging my way to Hirosaki University in Aomori Province. Cute wee town, really. Nice castle.
Being a very obsessive-compulsive sort of person (and also a fanatic of bucket lists), I thought it would be fun to set myself some challenges and encourage myself to experience Japan (mostly Tokyo and the Tohoku area right now!) as much as I can before I’m sentenced back to writing my dissertation in my cold, damp flat. So, I made a Japan Bucket List. Simple, huh? Follow my blog as I document the things I’m crossing off my list, and also some chunks of university life in wee Hirosaki.
Perhaps my list will be of some use to you when you choose to travel to Japan!
